Camillus, N.Y. — CNY’s Hematology-Oncology Associates will today build a 21,000-square-foot cancer treatment center in Camillus.
The new building at 5490 Cobbler Way will replace HOA’s small cancer center at Onondaga Hill and its wellness center in Camillus. It is scheduled to open in the second half of 2024.
CEO Maryann Roefaro said:
She said the new center will provide a full range of oncology care, including infusion services, radiation therapy, medical imaging, nutritional counseling, laboratory and pharmacy services for cancer and other needs. Additionally, it will house a wellness center for holistic care and classes for cancer patients and the community, she said.
The facility also has ample parking for patients, which the Onondaga Hill Center lacks, she said.
Roefaro said the practice is larger than the Onondaga Hill facility. The center has her 12 units for patients undergoing chemotherapy, and the new facility has her 29 units, she said.
Founded 41 years ago, HOA employs 320 people, including 20 doctors, many of whom are clinical partners.
Other cancer centers are located in Auburn and DeWitt.
The design team for the new center includes Bennetts & Huysman Architects, St. Germain & Aupperle Consulting Engineers, RAM-TECH Engineers and landscape architect Terry Horst. Rich & Gardner Construction Co. is the general contractor for the project.
