Dr. Melanie Rose is a general and vascular surgeon. She is a member of the Alabama Vascular Association and many other associations. She is the author of many scientific papers and book chapters and continues her ongoing clinical research in vascular surgery. Dr. Rose is a clinical educator in the Department of Surgery at the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine.

WAVES offers a complete selection of different treatment options for vascular disease. At our clinic, we can perform non-surgical stents/balloons for vascular occlusions. surgical bypass if necessary; clearing out the occluded artery; and treatment of complications arising from vascular procedures. Dr. Rose is also an expert in vascular trauma.

Vascular conditions are a lifelong problem and we are committed to regular follow-up of all our patients. Receive regular reminders. This is an important part of the patient’s overall treatment plan.
Vascular laboratory
Our in-office vascular exam services include peripheral arterial exams, peripheral venous exams, and extracranial cerebrovascular exams. Most vascular diagnostic tests are offered at our clinic for the convenience of our patients.

If you have any questions or concerns, our staff will be happy to help. Feel free to contact us during business hours Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm and Friday from 8am to 12pm. Except for emergencies, calls to nurses after 16:00 will be returned the next day.

To make an appointment, call 205-750-5752 Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday, 8:00 am to noon.
In Emergencies: Dr. Rose sees patients whenever an urgent issue arises. Her office phone number is available 24 hours a day. Compensation by other vascular surgeons is available in the absence of Dr. Rose.

Refill prescriptions will only be issued during office hours.
Claim
We accept Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and participate in most insurance plans. Our office manager will be happy to answer any questions regarding insurance coverage and claims.
