UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine Ranks Best in the Nation in Annual Survey


UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine once again ranked among the top medical schools in the nation for primary care and research in a new annual assessment of continued excellence.

In addition to the overall ranking, the medical school was also rated as a top school in each of the assessed specialties. US news and world reports The ranking will be announced on May 11th.

Geffen School of Medicine ranked 10th in primary care and 18th in research in a new assessment. He was also ranked 13th on the Diversity Index, a measure of the relative ethnic diversity of school enrollments.

The school’s specialty rankings, based on evaluations by medical deans and senior faculty members nationwide, were: Psychiatry (#8); Anesthesiology (#9); Family Medicine (#9); Obstetrics and Gynecology (#10); Radiology (#10) and Surgery (#12).

Dr. Net Medicine said. “The next generation of medical leaders and scientists are drawn to us for the excellent care we provide, our innovative research and education programs, and our commitment to improving the health of our communities.”

Medical faculty and trainees care for patients at UCLA Health Hospitals in Westwood and Santa Monica and clinics throughout Southern California. Medical students train at these medical centers, affiliated hospitals, and local community groups.

In the research and primary care category, federal research funding, percentage of graduates and residents practicing primary care, student acceptance rate, and faculty resources were considered.

UCLA Health ranked 5th in the nation in the latest survey. US News & World Report Recognized for 33 consecutive years on the prestigious list of hospital ratings.recently US News & World Report University rankings have made UCLA the #1 public university in the nation for the sixth year in a row.
