UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Opens Free Clinic in Glendale Heights


Chicago Medicine AdventHealth will sponsor free clinics on Saturday, June 3 for families and individuals who can’t afford medical bills.

The clinic will be held from 9am to 4pm at the Glendale Heights Sports Hub at 250 Civic Center Plaza, Glendale Heights.

Parking is free and participants are not required to report legal status or show identification or insurance.

Approximately 70 clinical and nonclinical volunteers from UChicago Medicine AdventHealth staff the clinic, provide healthcare services, and assist participants with registration, navigation, and translation needs.

“Chicago Medicine Advent Health’s healing mission calls for us to extend care to all people, especially those in our local communities,” said Heather Hoffman, UC Medicine Advent Health’s Integrated Regional Director of Clinical Missions. Free medical services offered at the clinic include chiropractic care, dental examinations, diabetes and nutrition education, eye examinations, clinical examinations (including blood glucose tests, urine tests, pregnancy tests), orthopedics, pediatrics (for schools and sports). (including health check-ups but not vaccinations), free medication (based on clinic examination), physical therapy, podiatry, primary care.

ICNA Relief, which provides social services and emergency aid to the underprivileged, will also be represented at the clinic. In addition, referrals to counseling services and food pantries will be available, and patients will be able to receive referrals to other social services after evaluation.

The clinic will be offered for the first time by UCicago Medicine AdventHealth this year. Advent Health Great Lakes Region, which launched a joint venture with the Chicago Medical College in January 2023, will sponsor two similar clinics in the western suburbs in both 2022 and 2021.
