Shreveport, Louisiana (KTAL) – America’s largest food drive has been held in 10,000 cities and towns in 50 states for 30 years.
The National Postal Carriers Association food drive was first used as an argument in 1991 when NALC leader and Postmaster General Anthony Frank began envisioning food drives to feed the starving in ten American cities. started. The first drive was so successful that plans soon began to launch a nationwide effort.
With suggestions from food banks and pantries, NALC has determined that late spring is when food banks need supplies the most, as Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday donations are starting to run out.
