Two women flown in for treatment after two cars collide at rural intersection south of Darwin, Minnesota – West Central Tribune


Hutchinson — Two Hutchinson residents were seriously injured and one was airlifted to hospital for treatment after two vehicles collided in south Darwin’s Ellsworth township.

According to a news release from Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruz, the minivan driven by Hutchinson resident Gloria Luzicka, 93, was driving east on Route 18 at about 4:03 p.m. It collided with a pickup truck traveling south on the highway. Wednesday.

Ruzytka was “severely injured” in the release. She was taken by ambulance to Hutchinson Health Hospital and then airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Ruzytka’s passenger, Doris Stubbson, 83, of Hutchinson, was also seriously injured. She was airlifted to Central Care St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

Kyle Johnson (30), who lives in the countryside of Dussel, was driving the pickup truck. According to news releases, he suffered no injuries.

Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Dussel Rescue, Alina Ambulance, and Lifelink III all responded to the scene.

The crash is under investigation by the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office. Cruz said the crash was likely the result of not giving up priority, although he did not specify who had priority.
