Top fast food chains you won’t find in central Pennsylvania


(WTAJ) — While most of central Pennsylvania is used to having McDonald’s, KFC, and Taco Bells everywhere, there are many highly rated fast food chains that don’t exist in Central Pennsylvania.

If you look at QSR Magazine’s 2019 Top 50 Fast Food Restaurants list, you’ll find 21 restaurants you won’t find anywhere else across 10 counties. Additionally, there are only 1-2 of his 10 restaurants in the area, making it difficult for those unwilling to travel to enjoy these chains.


Below are the top 50 fast food restaurants by QSR Magazine. Locations not in central Pennsylvania are shown in bold. An asterisk indicates that there are only 1 or 2 restaurants in the area.

Most restaurants not in the area are chicken-based, and some, like Church’s Chicken, have no locations in the state at all.

Center County has the most unique variety of restaurants as it is home to the area’s only Raising Canes, McAlister’s Deli, Moes and Qdoba. The Altoona area also recently added her second Fire Department submarine in central Pennsylvania, while Johnstown will soon add Chipotle.
