general Hospital Icon Anthony Geary is taking a break from retirement to remember his TV show sister, Jacklyn Zeman, who died Wednesday at the age of 70 after a short battle with cancer.

The eight-time Daytime Emmy Award winner said in an exclusive statement to TVLine: general Hospital. During that time, I have never heard her utter a disparaging word about her actors, staff, or her colleagues. In fact, I have never heard Jackie say an unkind word to anyone. It turns out that these qualities are extremely rare in a competitive profession where egos, emotions, and emotions feed. I think it will become even rarer now that dear Jackie is gone.

“She was one of the kindest, sweetest people I’ve ever known,” continues Geary. “I will miss her laughter and deep, soulful eyes every time she expressed the love and pride she had for her two lovely daughters. I feel a strong pain where the smile used to be.”

Geary and Zeman shared a screen together GH Brothers Luke and Bobby Spencer went on and off for almost 40 years until Geary retired in 2015.

Zeman’s death was announced late Wednesday. GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini tweeted: general Hospital Dear Families, We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Jackie Zeman. Like the legendary Bobby Spencer she played, she was bright and a true professional who brought a positive energy to her work. We will miss Jackie very much, but her positive spirit will live on with the cast and crew. We send our heartfelt condolences to her loved ones, her friends and family, especially her daughters Cassidy and Lacey. ”

GH On Thursday, veterans past and present flooded social media with tributes to Zeman.

“I’m kind of confused about this,” the actress said. GH Daughter Laura Wright lamented on Instagram Thursday morning. She said, “She is so grateful to have shared her many years with this beautiful woman. Jackie told her best story and can’t believe it I had a wonderful life.she loved to work GH. She loves her daughters and lights up when talking about her grandchildren. To say she’ll be gone is an understatement. Jackie, thank you for sharing your heart and soul with all of us.I really love [her daughters] Cassidy and Lacey. ”
