Berkmaar High School students Hussain Fahad, Brian Nguyen, and a third student who wished to remain anonymous were on their way home after completing their AP exams.

Shortly after, a 10th grader saw a woman in an emergency in the middle of Pleasant Hill Road, the school district said.

The students quickly sprang into action, heaving traffic to help the woman onto the sidewalk and then carry her back to school.

The students then called 911 while transporting her to Berkmaar High School, the school district said.

First responders in Gwinnett County reportedly treated the woman at the school before rushing her to hospital.

Students shared their disappointment with the driver who did not stop to help the woman.

“I felt like the guy in the Camaro was going to run over her,” Fahd said. “He kept honking at her girlfriend and telling her to move.”

Nguyen said he was shocked and disappointed by the behavior of passing motorists.

“We couldn’t believe it. The car just kept honking at her and no one helped her. You should always help someone in need.”

Dr. Durant Williams, principal of Berkmaar High School, said if the students hadn’t rushed to help the woman, she wouldn’t have been saved.

“I am very proud of these three young men,” explains Dr. Williams. “Their heroism in saving the lives of members of the Berkmar community on this day should be shared around the world. It reminds me of all the good things in this world.”
