Teenager shot dead in hospital during surgery in Jacksonville, family says – Action News Jax


Jacksonville, Florida — Update 8:45am- The family confirmed to Action News Jacks that the victim, 19-year-old Anya Womack, died in hospital from her injuries.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a woman who was dropped off at a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Around 12:30 a.m., police officers called a local hospital about the shooting, detectives said. Upon arrival, the victim was found to be a woman in her 20s with a life-threatening gunshot wound. she is having surgery.

Initial investigations revealed that the woman had been picked up from the sidewalk and two people had driven her to the hospital. The location of the incident is unknown, but the two men who dropped off the victim are cooperating with the police.
