Sports Medicine – St. Joseph’s College


The Department of Sports Medicine at St. Joseph’s University serves student-athletes through the prevention, recognition, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries.

The Department of Sports Medicine works closely with team doctors to provide the best possible medical care for student-athletes. Team Orthopedic Surgeons Michael Ciccotti, M.D., Robert Frederick, M.D., Sommer Hammoud, M.D.www.rothmaninstitute.com), Non-Surgical Sports Medicine Physician Mark Harwood, M.D., weekly visits to the Orthopedic Surgery will take place on the following days. Tuesday Afternoon, Primary Care Sports Medicine Thursday afternoon. In addition to doctor visits, physiotherapist Rob O’Brien, provided through MainLine Health Rehabilitation, is on campus providing therapy for the entire college community Monday through Friday.

Athletics Center Athletic Training Room is located on the ground floor of the Athletics Center adjacent to Hagan Arena. It is located between the Casciat basketball practice facility and the weight room. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Weekend and evening hours vary depending on team practice and game schedules.

The Opake Athletic Training Room is located on the lower level of the Opake Athletic Center. It is located between the men’s changing room and the women’s changing room. Hours of operation vary according to team practice and game schedules.
