A popular little food pantry in Overland Park faces criticism for the amount of traffic it brings to its streets. Tiny Pantry Times opened during the pandemic and has been growing ever since. But recent road construction has brought more and more traffic down his 71st Street off Metcalfe. Jennifer Parker, who runs the Tiny Pantry Times, said, “Our neighbors are getting a little worried. Parker hopes to raise enough money to build Circle Drive in front of the house. “Some of us are helpless and have to get here on foot,” she said. She says the new Circle Drive will not only ease some of the traffic on the street. She says it will now be much safer for everyone. The Pantry serves nearly 2,000 people each month, distributing over 10,000 pounds of food during that time. It costs about $8,000 to build a circle drive.

But recent road construction is driving more and more traffic down 71st Street off Metcalfe.
“Our neighbors are a little worried about it,” said Jennifer Parker, who runs the Tiny Pantry Times. “Complaints were filed with the city.”
The group is trying to raise money through GoFundMe. Parker hopes to raise enough money to build Circle Drive in front of the house.
She said it would be too expensive to move the pantry into a rented space, and the first idea anyway was to get food in a place where people could easily walk and pick up what they needed.
“Some of us are helpless and have to come here on foot,” she said.
She says the new circular drive will do more than just ease some of the traffic on the street.
She says it will now be much safer for everyone. .
