Family awarded over $8 million by jury in knee replacement surgery lawsuit for medical practice

GLASTONBURY, Connecticut — A Connecticut jury on Tuesday found a Glastonbury-based orthopedic sports specialist responsible for more than $8 million in connection with the death of Peter Sobin, who died in 2015. made a verdict.

In August 2015, 61-year-old Sobin underwent knee replacement surgery by an orthopedic sports specialist, according to the complaint. According to the complaint, Sovin developed a blood clot in his leg shortly after the surgery.
The jury further found that the orthopedic-sports doctor did not address Sobin’s concerns and did not order a foot ultrasound to detect blood clots. claimed to be increasing.
Sobin died just two days after the second follow-up visit, according to the lawsuit.
A jury awarded Sobin’s estate $5.5 million and his wife Linda Sobin $3 million.
