President Kennedy Introduces Bill to Expand Medical Options for Veterans – Press Releases

WASHINGTON – Sen. John Kennedy (R., Louisiana) today announced that veterans’ community veterans’ department (VA) facilities will be able to access veterans’ health care options by making them accessible to community care providers. Introduced the 2023 Veterans True Choice Act to expand access. not provide the required service. Veterans with military service-related conditions can use TRICARE Select and TRICARE for Life if they have Medicare entitlement instead of participating in the Veterans Health Care Program.

“Our brave veterans should not go without the medical care they need, but they do too often. We have expanded access to health care options for Americans with disabilities and ensured that veterans received the care they deserve.” said Kennedy.

Rep. Greg Stube (R-Florida) is leading the bill in the House.

“As a veteran, myself, I know the frustration experienced by Southwest Florida veterans dealing with veterans. of veterans live there, many of whom feel underserved or unfairly served.My law will give those who have served our country what they deserve. We appreciate Senator Kennedy’s partnership and look forward to bringing this legislative solution to America’s veterans.” said Steube.

This law is:

  1. Direct the VA to reimburse the Department of Defense for medical expenses accordingly.
  2. By enabling TRICARE, patients will be able to make more individualized choices among healthcare providers in their area.
