Police Arrest 14-Year-Old Boy in Connection with Bridgeport Food Delivery Driver Murder – NBC Connecticut

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the murder of a food delivery driver in Bridgeport earlier this month, police said.

At around 7:25 p.m. on March 4, a man delivering Chinese food was shot multiple times on Boston Avenue.

Another teenage suspect was previously arrested in connection with the case.Friday’s arrest is the second in connection with the killing.

After obtaining ShotSpotter activation, officers were called to the scene. Dispatchers also received multiple calls of numerous gunshots and someone firing.

When emergency services arrived in the area, they said they found Jiabin Lin, 35, of Flushing, New York, unresponsive. He was on the ground next to an apartment in the area.

Police said the man was a food delivery driver at the Yummy Yummy Chinese restaurant on Boston Avenue in Bridgeport and was shot multiple times. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

Police say Lin has no known family in the United States and has notified his family in China.

A 14-year-old boy arrested on Friday faces charges including felony murder and attempted robbery. He is being held in juvenile detention on his $1 million bond.

A previously arrested 17-year-old boy faces charges including murder, execution of felony murder and attempted first-degree robbery. As a teenager he is bound by a $3 million bond.

The police department said it was able to utilize the National Integrated Ballistics Information Network (NIBIN) to analyze the cases and put them in a national database along with other ballistic images. A computer system determined that the shells at the murder scene matched the ballistic properties of the gun recovered from her 17-year-old girl.

Police continue to search for another person linked to the incident.
