On March 27, 2023, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated ophthalmic equipment to the newly established Tallinn Regional Eye Diagnostic Clinic in Armenia. The clinic was established in collaboration with the Armenian Eye Project (HAN), the Tallinn Medical Center and the Church of Jesus Christ.

HAN Director General Nune Yeghiazarian thanked the church for its support and explained the impact of this donation.
“This clinic is part of a vision protection program launched in 2015 in the most needed areas of Armenia,” Yeghia Zaryan said. “We have already established five eye centers with diagnostic and surgical interventions.”
Over the next ten years, 40,000 citizens of Tallinn and the surrounding Aragatson region will use the new clinic. Early diagnosis and laser capabilities help eliminate preventable blindness. Patients who were unable to receive timely treatment due to distance and expense will receive free vision screening, diagnosis and laser treatment.
Church representative Margaret Ivassian expressed her joy that the Church is participating in this program that will bring quality healthcare to many people in the region.
“One of the purposes of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is to help and serve one another,” she said.
