Medical device funded by Kyivstar will facilitate treatment of pediatric patients in the country

Kiev, Ukraine, May 23, 2023– VEON Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: VEON, Euronext Amsterdam: VEON) is a global digital operator of integrated connectivity and online services., Today, the Ukrainian operating company Kievstar, donated 10 million Ukrainian hryvnia for the purchase of medical equipment and laboratory equipment needed for the treatment of pediatric burn patients in Lviv hospitals. This is a new focus area in Kievstar’s ongoing support for children’s health and well-being under its ‘Hope for Children’ initiative.

The donated funds will be used to equip a burn unit at Lviv Hospital in western Ukraine. This critical equipment includes burn beds, anesthesia stations, surgical instruments and diagnostic tools. By providing these resources, Kyivstar aims to address the desperate need for adequate medical facilities in the country.

In the last 15 months alone, about 12,000 children have been burned in Ukraine. Due to the lack of medical equipment, many critically ill patients had to be shipped abroad for treatment. With this initiative, Kievstar’s contribution will ensure that children receive effective medical care locally, close to their families.

Kievstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov said: “The positive impact of Kievstar benefits many vulnerable segments of society and we are committed to supporting this important initiative. I am humbly committed to helping Ukrainian children in need,” he added. Alive, this is another example of this commitment. ”

Since its launch in 2018, Kievstar’s social initiative “Children’s Hope” has focused on helping children suffering from heart disease and cancer. With the expansion of its mission to include burn care, Kievstar’s Hope for Children initiative will continue to play a vital role in improving the lives of young patients.

In addition, the company facilitates donations from subscribers through user accounts to actively raise additional funds for laser treatments to treat children with burn scars, contributing to the long-term health of children. I’m here.
