Kentucky Congressman Ramin Swann dies after emergency medical care

Rep. Ramin Swann, a freshman Democrat from Lexington who just finished his first Congress, died Saturday. he was 45 years old.

Swann suffered a “serious medical emergency requiring hospitalization” on Tuesday, his mother Pam Dixon said earlier this week.

In a statement released Sunday morning, Dixon said, “After saying goodbye to my beloved son Ramin earlier today, no words can fully describe the grief and unimaginable loss I and others are feeling right now. No,’ he said. “Beyond our faith, it comforts us to know that he made a positive and lasting impact on so many people, including his loved ones and friends. What he insisted on all his life, and now his decision to become an organ donor will forever enhance their own lives.
