Topeka – Governor Laura Kelley announced today that the Kansas Senate unanimous Confirmed Brigadier General Michael Venerdi to serve as Lieutenant General of Kansas.

Prior to being appointed and confirmed as the 38th Lieutenant General of Kansas, Beneldi served as Chief of the Joint Staff of the Kansas National Guard at Joint Command Headquarters in Topeka. Previously, he served as commander of the 184th Air Wing at McConnell Air Force Base.

Venerdi’s approval comes after Maj. Gen. David Weishaar resigned from the post on April 1.
