Geoffra Archer has expressed anger at reports that he has left the Indian Premier League this month to undergo surgery on his right elbow in Belgium.
England’s Pace Bowler started the Mumbai Indians’ season opener on April 2 but missed the next four games before returning to action on Saturday.

However, in response to reports suggesting he had surgery, Archer took to Twitter to post: “Publishing an article without my consent without knowing the facts is insane.
“Even if reporters shame you and it’s already a worrying and embarrassing time for players, and you exploit it for personal gain, the problem is people like you.”
Archer made his return to Mumbai’s squad at the weekend, claiming one wicket at a cost of 42 runs in Mumbai’s defeat against the Punjab Kings, bowling all four overs allotted.
He was resting for Tuesday’s match against the Gujarat Titans, but could be back on the count again when Mumbai take on the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
England’s medical team is working closely with the franchise’s response team, and Archer is only a few months away from recovering from stress fractures in his elbow and back.
He put in some promising performances on his return to England on the Whiteball Tour of South Africa and Bangladesh after a 17-month absence, and has been linked with suggestions that he could take on a starring role in this summer’s Ashes series. We are connected.
Archer, who took 22 wickets for England at the Ashes in 2019, has not played a Test since February 2021. It has also suggested that county side Sussex may not play first-class cricket ahead of Ashes. Tested at Edgbaston on June 16th.
Eager to downplay expectations, Archer said when he was in Bangladesh, “If only I could play one.” [Ashes] Games this summer, I’ll be happy.
