King Charles and his wife Camilla, Academy Award-winning author and actor Emma Thompson and South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu were among the many popular guests who visited the Soukya Holistic Health Center just 26 kilometers from the city of Bengaluru. As a young homeopath, he worked from 1985 at the 101 Clinic, one of the oldest and largest holistic health clinics in Europe. The healthcare system has delivered far better results than following just one. At that time, he dreamed of a holistic wellness center that combined India’s traditional medical system. “For the past 20 years, patients from all over the world have come to his Soukya on the recommendation of doctors practicing Western medicine,” says Mathai.
However, after Covid-19, perceptions of the benefits of integrative medicine, including Ayurveda and yoga, have diversified. “Everyone wants to have a strong immune system, a healthy mind and body, not only fight disease, but live a happy and healthy life. Nothing beats an approach,” adds Mathai.
