Patrick Stover photoDr. Patrick Stover is Director of the Institute for Agricultural Health Promotion (IHA) at Texas A&M University. IHA is the world’s first research institute to integrate precision nutrition, adaptive agriculture and behavioral research to reduce diet-related chronic diseases in an environmentally and economically responsible way.

As an international leader in biochemistry, agriculture and nutrition, Stover’s research explores the biochemical and biochemical underlying relationships between nutrition, food fortification, and human pathologies such as developmental abnormalities, neurological disorders, and cancer. It focuses on genetic and epigenetic mechanisms. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences and a Fellow of the American Association for Scientific Progress. He is past president of the American Academy of Nutrition and has served two terms on the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. He received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from St Joseph’s University, a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biophysics from Virginia Medical School, and a postdoctoral fellowship in nutrition from the University of California, Berkeley.
