I turned 102 this year. Through my decades of experience in holistic medicine, I have learned a lot about how to live a long, happy and purposeful life.

Too many people are hoarding unnecessary stress. But the happiest, healthiest people I know are able to let go of things and experiences that no longer serve them. you can’t. In doing so, you are essentially torturing yourself.

So the habit that has brought me health and happiness over the years is my ability to build things anew, whether it’s relationships, career paths, or projects.

My mother taught me an easy way to let go of the things that don’t matter. She gently raised her hand in front of us, her fingers loosely clenched, her palms facing up. She then swoops back in and she says, “It doesn’t matter.”

This natural movement allowed her to survive unfathomable trials without going too deep. She let go of what went wrong, refocused on what was important to her and moved on.

I have adopted this practice for years. Recognizing something useless, I dropped my hand and opened my fingers in a smooth motion to indicate my release.

Now that I am conscious of gestures, I have found that whenever I notice something coming towards me, there is great empowerment in knowing that I have a choice whether to accept it or not. I got

And if it’s something I don’t want, I consciously return that energy to its original place.

This exercise works best when you are up and moving. Put on some upbeat music and start walking around your house or neighborhood.

As you walk, keep your body loose and free. You can even make them dance a little.

1. Identify what you feel stuck in your life.

These include friendships, professional endeavors, ways of thinking, and grudges. Please feel “fit” with your whole body.

2. Imagine being able to hold this jam in your hand.

One fist may feel tight. Keep this tightness. Hold hands.

3. Really let go.

As you move, bring your hands out in front of you, palms up, fingers together. Then open your fingers a little and drop them back down. While doing so, it releases the stickiness.

You can think and say words that are meaningful to you. “It doesn’t matter”, or a similar phrase that applies to you.

Once you let go, take time to appreciate the flow of life that flows through you.

Everyone faces regret. The question is how long should it be maintained?

I don’t know what you’ve done wrong in the past, but I think you did the best you could with who you were then. When you find yourself living with regret, catch it and see what moves.

Was it generally going well? If so, thank you! Is there anything wrong with that? Then laugh! Have you learned anything new since then? If so, enjoy what you know now and express it as best you can!

Do whatever you can to let go of your regrets. Forgive yourself and ask forgiveness from others when necessary. Then you can go on with your life.
