On May 16, 2023, Army Chief of Staff General James C. McConville visited the new 25th Infantry Division Artillery Barracks at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii as part of LANPAC. LANPAC is a world-class international event that focuses on the role of land forces in the Indo-Pacific theater and the joint force’s contribution to peace and war. General McConville’s visit to the brigade’s new barracks was intended to assess the readiness of the division and its men, and to assess the progress the brigade had made within the new infrastructure project.

During his visit, McConville met with division and brigade leaders and soldiers of the 25th Infantry Division Artillery to tour the newly renovated living conditions. The new barracks provide soldiers with modern and comfortable living quarters with keyless entry, separate bedrooms, shared bathrooms and kitchens. All living spaces are equipped with full-size refrigerators and ranges. A bathroom with a sink, toilet, and bath-shower instead of a vanity. And each barracks building has a dayroom, a common entertainment or recreation area.

McConville expressed satisfaction with the results of the renovation of the new barracks. He noted that the new facility will improve soldier morale and well-being, which is critical to maintaining critical levels of readiness. McConville also stressed the importance of investing in upgrading infrastructure and facilities to support soldiers and their families.
