General: 11 Norwich Student-Athletes Named NSCA All-Americans


Northfield, Vermont – The entire strength and conditioning approach at Norwich University has undergone a dramatic change since the addition of the coach. Scott CaulfieldDirector of Strength and Conditioning, Coach Maki Schuuk, Assistant Strength and Conditioning. The past two years of national awards are further proof that the overall program is moving in a positive direction. The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recently announced that 11 Norwich student-athletes have won his 2023 All-American Athlete Award. These student-athletes are recognized for their outstanding achievements and dedication to strength and conditioning.

“I am thrilled to recognize this year’s NSCA All-Americans and a year of hard work and dedication in the weight room. improving off-field/off-court, improving leadership in the weight room for their respective teams, and a commitment to Norwich University’s Strength and Conditioning Program.” He was personally nominated by Coach Szczyk.

Mikhaila Fachak (Nyack, New York)women’s lacrosse

Callum Jones (Burlington, Ontario)Men’s Hockey/Men’s Lacrosse

Patrick Keef (Andover, Massachusetts),soccer

Matt Macaluso (Barrington, Rhode Island),baseball

Cameron Woolridge (Roanoke, Virginia),wrestling

“Being a student-athlete is a unique experience that requires a great deal of dedication, hard work, and commitment both in and out of the weight room,” explained Coach Szczuk. He set an example and demonstrated the level of commitment required to become an NSCA All-American.Coach Caulfield and I are incredibly proud and grateful to have coached such an amazing student-athlete.” As a member of Norwich University’s 2017-18 National Championship Women’s Hockey Team, Coach Szcuk is entitled to know exactly what it takes to ultimately succeed in Maroons and Gold.
