A beloved figure on a local TV show is recovering after surgery, and his TV family says they hope he’ll be back on the air soon.
CTV Morning Live weathercaster Marke Driesschen underwent successful heart valve replacement surgery, according to Friday hosts Jason Pires and Carrie Adams.
Viewers who have seen him almost daily for years can expect him to return once he is okay from the doctors.
“He is expected to make a full recovery in the next two to three months,” they said.
“He said earlier [rather] later. ”
He was candid about taking a leave of absence earlier this week, but the reasons were not disclosed at the time.
Many took to social media to wish them luck and express how they miss him.
In addition to working for CTV, he is also an actor and has appeared in many local productions including; Final Destination 2, Smallville, Mr. Magoo, Electra and dead zone.
In a statement to the Daily Hive, Bell Media said he will be back in the summer and that CTV’s other weather experts will stand in for him in his absence.
