free medical care? | News, Sports, Jobs

Lycoming County Commissioners Scott Metzger, Rick Mirabito, and Tony Musaret will build a unique medical facility at a New Jersey-based company that will be available only to county employees and county retirees and their dependents. To that end, taxpayers donated $3 million. The company will also be paid $1.5 million to $2 million annually in operating expenses. Ten full-time medical professionals provide county employees seven days a week with free and unlimited doctor visits, prescriptions, lab tests, x-rays, physical therapy, mental/behavioral health, and more.

If you’re wondering when did I miss spending like this as a poll question, or why did I just miss all the pre-advertised public town hall meetings, so do I. Commissioners say they made this choice to reduce the county’s current employee medical spending. What about the obvious? Stop offering free lifetime health insurance to county employees, including yourself.
