Now that King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation is over, we’ve rounded up the royal recipes, from the best to the worst.
My favorite dish is the paprika recipe Princess Diana had when she lived in Kensington Palace.
No. 1 on the list is a paprika stuffing recipe from Royal Chef Darren McGrady’s cookbook Royal Meals: Recipes and Memories of the Palace Kitchen. McGrady told her HuffPost in 2014 that she often cooks because Princess Diana focuses on her healthy lifestyle and lean diet.
With 15 ingredients, it’s hard to prepare, but it’s a really good dish that doesn’t sacrifice health for flavor. The recipe calls for four red bell peppers mixed with ingredients like smoked bacon, mozzarella and rice, making each spoonful better than the last. This dish took about 45 minutes to bake, including oven time for the peppers.
Another smash hit is Princess Diana’s favorite dessert, a bread and butter pudding topped with toasted almonds and powdered sugar.
Chef McGrady also made Bread and Butter Pudding, Princess Diana’s favorite dish, while working for Princess Diana at Kensington Palace. In his cookbook, McGrady liked the dish so much that he boasted about him to reporters.

A dessert made of layers of white bread coated with butter and eggs and topped with sweet flavors.
My only complaint with the recipe is the cooking time, especially the raisins soaked in amaretto. Otherwise, cooking will take just under two hours.

According to McGrady, Princess Diana’s two sons were often asked to help make stuffed eggplants for their mother.

The Coronation Chicken recipe, also known as Poulet Reine Elizabeth, was the most hands-on recipe as it required the chicken to be prepared with mirepoix, a 14-ingredient sauce, and an optional 6-ingredient mayonnaise.
This recipe, shared by English Heritage, calls for the chicken to be boiled in mirepoix and bouquet garni, then shredded. Next, make a sauce with a few ingredients such as red wine, chopped onions, tomato puree, and curry paste. You can also add homemade mayonnaise. It takes about an hour to prepare the dish.
This dish is versatile, serving as a main or side dish, and resembles a nice chicken salad with a hint of sweetness in its savory flavor.
I would eat it again when it was served, but the prep and cooking time could have been better.
