Fisher-favorite stream reopens at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center

Swarlan, a popular trout fishing spot on the campus of the Pennsylvania Health Lancaster Medical Center, will reopen this season after closing for hospital construction.

Swarr Run stocks trout water managed by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC). In preparation for the trout season, the PFBC he stocked the channel on March 16th. Open to licensed anglers on Mentored Youth Trout Day March 25th and for the season starting Saturday April 1st. There is a sign on the Lancaster campus. The Medical Center provides anglers with instructions on parking, access to Swarr Run, and basic rules.

Claire Mooney, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Lancaster Medical Center, said: “We understand that recreational activities are part of overall health and are just as committed to partnering with our communities as we are to providing quality health care. is.”

Anglers over the age of 16 must be prepared to show identification and a fishing license when passing through the Lancaster Medical Center campus to access Swarr Run.
