Eastern District of New York | Deputy Attorney General Honors Assistant U.S. Attorney for Eastern District of New York at Commissioner’s Commendation Ceremony


Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and EOUSA Director Monty Wilkinson honored U.S. Assistant Attorney General Lisa Monaco at the 38th Annual Awards Ceremony held today in Washington, DC. EDNY was one of the representative districts. At a ceremony held in the Great Hall of the Robert F. Kennedy Department of Justice Building.

Breon Peace, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, said: Laya Riza’s vision, skill and tenacity as America’s leading litigator and supervisor have elevated the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York and furthered the mission of the Department of Justice. ”

EOUSA President Wilkinson said, “The recipients we have recognized today have weathered difficult times, demonstrated remarkable resilience and commitment to justice, and weathered this opportunity with an unwavering dedication to their mission. I have worked tirelessly to defend the rights of Americans and represent the highest form of federal service.”

Mr. Soloveychik, Assistant United States Attorney’s Office (AUSA), was recognized for his exemplary work in leading the district’s rigorous civil immigration and programmatic practices of more than 1,500 cases. AUSA Soloveichik is the Deputy Director of the Civil Affairs Division for the Eastern District of New York City and was previously the Director of the Immigration Litigation Division. She has also successfully managed numerous emergency litigation and programmatic challenges in state-of-the-art cases of national importance. AUSA Soloveichik has also played a leading role in advocating not only long-standing vaccine policy, but also challenges to national policy related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
