Another Dollar General is coming to Davidson County, but the popular small retail chain won’t have more stores as another nearby Dollar General will close.

The crew began clearing the ground last week at Lexington’s corner of Beesecker Road and former U.S. Route 52 for the new store, but the current Dollar Store in the Norrex Shopping Center, less than a mile from the road. General employees are preparing to close.

The Terramore Development of Salisbury has applied for rezoning of two parcels totaling 0.63 acres on the north side of Beesecker Road in September 2023. There was an old house on the site.
