feeling blue? Help may be just around the corner.

CVS is adding mental health treatments to Minute Clinics at six Southern California drugstores.

“We continue to see a need for accessible mental health care across the nation,” said Sherrill Burke, senior vice president of corporate social responsibility, in a recent statement.

Adding counseling and therapy to the Minute Clinic makes treatment more convenient and accessible to more people.

This is also the recognition by leading medical practitioners that mental health is just as important as physical health.

According to CVS, about 80% of patients report a reduction in their symptoms of depression after seeing a therapist.

Verbalizing your feelings or simply being heard can help people who are stressed or anxious feel better.

Therapists and counselors who work with CVS accept most major health plans.

Also check with your employer. In many workplaces, employee health coverage, including mental health, is limited.

The bottom line: when you’re feeling down, you don’t have to just endure or get over it. Help is available.
