Sanford Health’s marketing division won nine awards at this year’s Healthcare Ad Awards, the largest and best-known healthcare advertising awards competition. In addition to brand campaigns, the health system received awards for its efforts in pandemic response, services for women and children, sports, rural health care delivery and improving equity.
Sanford Health President and CEO Bill Gassen sent his congratulations in a message to the marketing department.
“You bring our ideas, goals and initiatives to life in ways that not only inform but also inspire,” he said. “Your work is central to the delivery of world-class care serving patients, people and communities.”
Based on creativity and influence
This is just the second year Sanford Marketing has submitted work to the Healthcare Ad Awards. These awards are open to healthcare companies and their agencies to honor the field of healthcare marketing and advertising.
There are 54 award categories, including traditional and digital advertising, content strategy, websites, videos, fundraising campaigns, and COVID-19 and vaccination efforts.
There were more than 4,300 entries this year. A national panel of judges judged all entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact.
There were 530 gold awards, 352 silver awards and 238 bronze awards. Acquiring Sanford Health:

Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Development Officer Nathan Peterson said the award reflected the team’s “incredibly broad range of capabilities.” He also mentioned various topics the team needs to understand in order to effectively market to both patients and providers.
“Not only is the department having the internal expertise to develop integrated marketing campaigns, public service communications, websites, videos, podcasts, social media and events, but the quality of work across this wide range of mediums is such. It deserves a good reputation,” he said.
Colette Manning, vice president of marketing, congratulated the team during the division-wide awards announcement.
“It would be impossible to name everyone who contributed to these projects, because these achievements are due to each and every one of you,” Manning said. “This is truly a team win. What you do makes a difference.”
