Carnatic singer Bombay Jayashri suffers aneurysm, undergoes surgery in UK

Carnatic singer Sangeetha Kalanidi, who goes by the name Bombay Jayashri, was reportedly rushed to hospital after suffering an aneurysm while on tour in the United Kingdom (UK).

(An aneurysm is a swelling of the artery wall or heart chamber due to injury or weakening of the blood vessel wall.)

In a statement, Jayashri’s family said her health had deteriorated in the UK, where she is currently touring for concerts.

Through a post on Jayashri’s social media accounts, the family added: She is currently stable, recovering well and will need several days of rest. Her family, who asked for privacy, added that her health status will be updated in due course.
